Bronies: Those with low self-esteem hiding behind a banner of confidence built up by a group of people who love something against the grain, adopting it as their own self confidence. There are many people who say they would have committed suicide without my little pony, or that "it changed their lives." People owing any positive change in their lives to the show and not themselves to the point that people feel left out or alienated if they haven't had their lives changed.
Older children catching on, former /b/ underage b& now bronies, learning the wrong lessons from the pony fandom about growing up. They're developing skewed views on how sexuality should work, on how art should be valued. on how community should work, and it's a breeding pool for the mindset of "everyone should accept me, but I am not going to accept a single thing I don't agree with as a whole."
When this show is canceled and the dust clears, a lot of these people are going to have to confront their idiocy and how much of themselves they have invested in to this fandom. 10 years later I'm sure they'll look back and realize while they loved the show, they didn't love it that much. |
