The flaws of the characters are endearing. I like that Dash is kind of a dick and that Pinkie Pie is a glutton and Twilight is careless with her magic. Makes them funnier and better as characters.

I especially like Rarity's melodrama being matched with AJ's down to earth honesty. AJ is a great straight man and I love seeing her and Rarity interact because they complement each other so well.

Scootaloo's adoration of Rainbow Dash is the way it is out of a desire for a sisterly figure in her life. Maybe she doesn't see much of her folks, or they just don't fill a guiding role well, but she looks to Rainbow Dash as a way to fill that hole. Unfortunately, Rainbow Dash is really one of the worst to fill it, and Scootaloo will eventually realize that.

If we ever do have some sort of character development, my guess it it'll be around the time she learns to fly, and starts getting fast enough to stay pace with Dash. What was just a clingy fan to RD suddenly becomes a threat, and she starts pushing back on Scootaloo.

Maybe they could settle into a friendly rivalry role in the future, but for now I say this whole adoration thing needs to come to a head.

And if others did practice more than you did, why compare yourself to them? You didn't invest 1.000 hours into drawing hands as they did. Invest those 1.000 hours and compare yourself again.

When you made a drawing that took two hours and you compare that to someone of your level of skill that also took two hours you might be disappointed because the other painting seems better. But perhaps that person hated making the picture and you enjoyed it.
