A client of mine went into my studio with his daughter the other day. He had to excuse himself for a phone call while the daughter sat in the reception area. She brought with her a My Little Pony coloring book and was amusing herself with it. I asked her who her favorite pony was and she said Twilight Sparkle. I said I liked Rarity.

So I drew her a picture of Twilight Sparkle. She liked it. When the client came back we discussed the project while she colored the drawing I made for her. After shaking his hand and showing him out, she told me "Thank you!" and the client was confused. I told her I drew a picture for her while he was outside. He gave me a big smile and said that was very nice of me. I said "No problem, kids are great."

Unfortunately no, my phone was in my office at the time. I'm not gonna lie and say it was particularly good. I just sketched it off the top of my head and I didn't want to look like a dork and keep looking at her coloring book for reference. notice that when Spike stole the candies and such, he didn't eat the, he wasn't hungry. He just wanted them because someone else had them, and to horde them away in some place where no one else could take them from him.

Though if his growth can be so easily shifted, it makes me see this scenario where the main cast is in trouble and Spike feels too weak to help them.

So he tries to trigger his hording instinct again to become a powerful dragon, but it doesn't work, he's not being greedy for the sake of greed, but because he's trying to help people.

And then, Spike develops a different growth spurt, one that only comes about when a dragon feels love.
