Wow, I only just saw the episode and I gotta say I was fairly blown away.

I was amused by all the cameos as well as some of the new designs on ponies they're beginning to make use of. We also apparently now know a few more of the Wonderbolts by name.

Also, my body was not ready for a Rarity song, someone mentioned it would be there last night but I thought they were just trying to get my hopes up.

Though I can't help but think that Rarity didn't even need to lie about Rainbow Dash or Twilight early on, I mean they're pretty damn interesting ponies. All she had to say about Rainbow Dash was that she was a 'candidate' for the Wonderbolt team and they took some interest after she performed the legendary Sonic Rainboom. And well, Twilight really doesn't need much introduction besides being the Element of Harmony bearer of MAGIC and the protege of Princess Celestia.

Amusing highlights for me:
-Twilight's terrible dancing and carrying the phonograph as a boombox
-Celestia sneaking up on Rarity during the letter writing (and made me wonder how many "Princes Molestia" jokes would be made about that)
-Fancy Pants turning out to be a cool guy.

Also: if that really is how most Canterlot ponies around the Castle area tend to act, it really is no wonder Twilight had no friends before.
