Underwhelming as hell, writing wise it doesn't get anywhere near the to the high benchmark that most episodes have set set. This one is down there in CMC territory. I still enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised that Rarity admitted that these are her best friends instead of telling a lie as I expected (would have been predictable).

I'm a fan of the songs on this show and the one this episode was pretty good overall.The new ponies we got to see and some of the new information dropped during the episode was interesting as well. My only real "complaint" is that Rarity pulled a karma Houdini who didn't get any reciprocation for constantly lying and making excuses for going back and forth between two parties, but at the same time I find it excusable because that's pretty much how ANYONE would respond to such a situation, and plays it off in such a way that seems typical for cartoons, but cutting out the cliché of Twilight feeling wronged or offended by Rarity's little white lies and actually showing some understanding for her case (even if her suppositions are slightly off the mark, they're not a full-blown miss like so many other shows would do).

All-in-all, it takes your usual "conflict of interest to the point where the interests get mixed up" plot I've seen in a lot of sitcoms and cartoons and cuts out any sense of insensitivity toward the interest of the "offender" (Twilight actually LIKING the simple dress which Rarity just happened to slap together last minute because she was too exhausted to do much of anything else with it? Both Rarity and the writers were lucky enough it worked so smoothly), which makes me appreciate the episode so much more.
