Like I said, my own personal taste. It also fits more for Rarity's personality as she equated him to a "prince charming" of sorts playing into the old prince and princess happily ever after story type things. With Twilight, it would seem a bit odd and wouldn't really make too much sense to me. There is really nothing that says she would just randomly have a crush on some guy or something. She is focused and into learning and study. Crushes and things like that just don't seem to fit and would be pretty awkward. I could see her admiring and looking up to someone, but not really some head over heels romantic scenario type thing. I find it isn't really shipping if a character exists for the purpose of exploring a relationship idea. While Faust set out with the commendable goal of making a girls show out of a moribund franchines that *wasn't* dedicated to shopping, fashion, and boys, that doesn't necessarily mean we need be afraid of these things in small doses and for narrative purposes.

Besides, the nerd girl librarian crush on some guy is the classic. Maybe some traveler who actually comes to her library to read the books (nobody actually seems to visit her library), meaning he could be written out just as easily by leaving at the end of the episode.

I confess, my personal feelings are that making Blueblood and the "romantic fantasies aren't all they're cracked up to be" message be the only relationship-related story in the show seems a little sad. Are ponies either already married or permanently single?
