In a world where characters can suffer from amusing injuries with no long-term consequence and one of the lead characters operates on Rule of Funny, getting strung-out over the show poking fun at hero clichés (carriages careening down a cliff, children getting stuck in a well, etc.) or utilizing Schizo Tech kinda seems redundant and rather >Ponychan.

I find the show to be more reputable for being a light-hearted Looney Tunes-esque show than something which is more wholly comprehensive, but that's just me.

I felt the previous episodes handled such situations with much . . . deus ex machina is I suppose a close way to put it.

The accidents appear out of no where, because they are needed for the story, then disappear without being addressed. I felt that had another show writer handled this same topic, they'd have not had the plot so neglected as to make events happen for the sake of the story needed those events. One thing I love about the show is that these situations often feel natural in their execution.

It's that the accidents feel poorly handed as a PLOT device. It's the WRITING that I am taking issue with. It feels UNNATURAL when most other episodes have a feeling of EVOLVING ORGANICALLY.

THE ACCIDENTS DO NOT EVOLVE ORGANICALLY BUT SHOW UP BECAUSE THE PLOT NEEDED IT.

I like that the show typically has an organic feel to the unfolding of the plot, this episode did not. Perhaps I'd give more allowance if I actually had laughed, I guess.

I'm more tolerant of danger and inconveniences contrived as the plot demands because that's just the way some stories can be told, because I find it to be kind of a silly thing to gripe over for a show that was never really intended to be a deep, insightful masterpiece as much as it is whimsical fluff that ends in episodic morals for the kids in the audience.

It's likely the idea for the episode came about from one of the crew members wanting to conceptualize a caped superhero pony and/or a competitor for Dash's spotlight, and the idea went through. The dangerous things in Ponyville are just one of those things that can slide into the "wiggle room" to allow this story and concept to be told.
