>>31807370 That's some Grant Morrison level fineness right there.
As for me:
After a hilarious attempt to endear himself to Rarity's parents, Spike realizes that he has little to no idea where he comes from and sets out to do just that.
Cue a cross country trip across Equestria with the Mane 6 as they follow clues regarding a large purple dragon that terrorized the countryside decades ago. This ultimately culminates in them finding Spike's mother in a trap-filled cave, surrounded by mounds of gold and wealth and in deep hibernation.
This disheartens Spike as he thinks that his mother loved all this material wealth more than him and that she abandoned or neglected his egg in some shape or form to go raid the countryside for these treasures.
However, Celestia intervenes, revealing that Spike's mother had rampaged around Equestria because she was trying to find a suitable place to hibernate and birth Spike. Even after creating such a secure stronghold she eventually gave Spike up to the land's Royal Guard as she could stand intruders coming into her den, taking her riches, and even slaying her. But Spike getting stolen or hurt was too much of a risk, reasoning that Celestia could keep him safe until she woke up.
Spike is still confused by the turn of events saying he's not sure if he can believe all that. He asks Twilight how long it could be until his mother comes out of her slumber, and she replies with "a while". This causes him to frown, but he perks up as he looks at the friends that helped him get this far. He nods, and says they might as well leave, but not before burning a message for his mother on the cave wall with molten gold saying:
"Thanks,
Love, Your Son." |
