That's pretty much what I see as the issue as well. Re: opinions, I didn't much care for the episode, but even going a step further, I feel like being a storyboard artist for a given episode is a degree too detached to aim criticism at someone for. Even if I did feel the need to be vocally upset about my perceived quality of the last episode, it would be exactly that - in an at least constructive manner. People mindlessly blathering about how the episode sucked, or, in contrast, how great it was and how all the haters don't know what they're talking about, leave a sour taste in my mouth - but this is the internet, so expecting coherent voicing of opinions is almost always unrealistic.

I'd hate to be the one to support this a little from Sibsy god, biased much?. But I think it's a different situation than just a person drawing fanart and wanting a a little bit of an ego-boost. She had to draw out this entire episode from the writing and it had to get sent out as the product we see it, no do-overs or anything. Didn't like it. Had funny moments like the pony with the jelly jar, the return of Pinkie sense is worth being mentioned as well. But for me at least, it didn't feel like these characters were on a tiny town, construction sites, paparazzis, tourists, it was just out of place. As well the RD fan club was completely ridiculous, i hate being reminded over and over and over again that RD is supposed to be the "cool one" of the group.Still, they're ponies, and they're funny, but one of the worst episodes of the series for sure.

That's actually very clever of the animators. Do any of you remember, way back when you were really little and hadn't learned to read yet, what writing looked like to you? I remember, and in my memory signboards looked a lot like the gibberish the animators have drawn there--the letters are ALMOST recognizable, but the whole thing doesn't make sense.

It's clear that the show is intended for a audience that's both literate and pre-literate, and they do a remarkable job of showing what the world looks like to someone who's pre-literate.

Okay, stop me if this is weird, but Dash is my favorite pony and I loved the last episode. People keep saying, she came off as a bitch and all that, but what I see is it focused on her flaws. It showed that, yeah she's totally awesome, but she's also incredibly self-involved. Makes her a 3 dimensional character. Also, it allowed her friends to show her, that she's not the best at everything, by creating a figure that was better than her in every way (Except flying with the speed of a jet plane). Honestly, that's why I'm not that fond of Applejack. Don't get me wrong she's great, but she's my least favorite of the main six. Every other pony has flaws and are known to act quirky. Applejacks just to, normal by comparison. Though she did have some awesome bits in Applebuck season and she does play off Rarity well.
