But it just didn't deliver in the gags and entertainment department. The Muppet Show was all about delivering one awful joke after another, rapidfire. Even though the jokes were so bad, it would still turn out to be funny, there were just so many of them. In this a lot of the gags were few and far between. Some decent cameos, but as many great ones as the original Muppet Movie. They set you up with the impression that you're going to see a lot of stuff from the old show. Swedish Chef. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker. Pigs in Space. That kind of think. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker only had one very brief scene, the Chef only had one good gag. Other than shots of the old set, and redoing the opening song and dance number, they didn't do much regarding the old show. And what really got to me was Disney sticking their fingers in the pie. Lots of product placement for Cars 2. I guess that wasn't so unexpected or terrible, but what really made me roll my eyes was at the very end. At the big dance finale, they pan up to see a display of fireworks in the night sky. The first big firework to catch the eye is shaped like Mickey Mouse.
