Just a few thoughts before I disappear for the day:
Fantastic episode. Not exactly the best, but laugh-out-loud funny throughout and very much a strong start for Merriweather Williams. A bit trite at times, formulaic and clichéd narrative, but I went in expecting it and I got what I was after, so no disappointed expectations. Voice-acting was top-notch as always, animation felt a bit unpredictable at times (for instance, during one of Rainbow's soliloquies her head became a bit too flat and round, but the Mysterious Mare Do Well was fantastic to watch in action), music was superb and it pretty much did me good for a Saturday. Nice job, pony team, another week of good showing.

The writing was bland.

They had nice bits here and there but nothing phenomenal. I liked the return of thee Pinkie Sense and the hilarity of the RD fanclub, as well as the various nods to other super heroes and shows but... I don't know, I was expecting something a little less predictable. Something that broke the mold a bit more.

Ass it stands, I want to see fanart of the Mane Six all in Mare Do Well costumes colored appropriately to match them. They are like the perfect pony Sentai uniforms.

The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was RD not becoming a villain for a bit. That would have been great if the rest of the mane 6 would have had to have dealt with a rogue RD that was so insanely jealous of Mare-Do-Well that she actually started causing shit, especially in a poorly made villain disguise or her Shadowbolt uniform.

Seeing as how this was her first episode in a series that already has a season behind it, I think her lack of knowledge in how to handle certain characters was sort of a detriment to how she wrote the overall episode.

It's great to see Rainbow Dash get her comeuppance every once and a while, because that's just the kind of character she was written to be, and the return of Pinkie Sense as an ability to drag it out of the "one-time plot device" heap was a bonus. But that's still a big jump to go from those shows to MLP's milder flavor, and it showed in that literally everyone was so vindictive.
