Well, her condition isn't good regardless. It doesn't take a doctor to figure that out. You press the back of your hand against her forehead again, as if that would make her any better. Meekly, she asks you how it feels, and you answer that it's getting better from this morning. Of course you can't tell the difference, but you're trying to comfort her. She whispers something that sounds like 'Oh, that's good', but you can barely hear it, the cold muffling her already soft voice. You tell her that you're going to run to the store to grab some medicine for her, to ease her pain. As you turn around to leave, you feel her fingers brush against your arm, like she's going to grab you, but she's far too weak. You lean in close, asking her what she'd like from the store, but her only request is that you don't go. Her cough is getting better, and she might feel okay if there's just some way to loose all the heat from her body. She's tugging on your sleeve, and you get the message. Disrobing, you slip into bed with her, cuddling her body. She feels so hot, and you're sure your body is only adding to the heat, but she wouldn't have asked for this if it wasn't what she wanted. As she looks into your eyes, she smiles ever so weakly, happy that you're here to stay. You kiss her, a light peck on the lips. Even though she breaks into a coughing fit, blowing air into your mouth, you don't flinch away. She rolls over and tells you she's ready to fall asleep in your arms. You press yourself against her back, nuzzling your face into her neck with no concern about becoming sick yourself. If this is what she needs to feel better, you're ready to be there to provide it.
