I'm a guy who's totally okay with people having a hobby and really getting into it. More power to you. However I've been wandering what makes MLP such a cult fenomenon. I've watched the first episode a while back and I love the art style and animations. Story seemed a bit overdone. I mean, making friendship has been around sinds Pokémon first aired 12 years ago.
Another thing I'm really wondering is why it's so populair amongst males.

My theory is that it's just a normal little girls show, but without the gag reflex normally associated with them. Everyone loves cute ponies doing cute things. Everyone loves friendship, pegasi, unicorns and rainbows, but children's television, especially little girl's television is inexcusably shit. They all have a combination of terrible voice acting, terrible writing and terrible animation.

MLP does nothing particularly special. It just avoids being bad which is actually a seemingly inhuman feat for shows of its genre, so we can enjoy it for the same merits that its target audience does. I think it's that simple.

Yeah, this is probably accurate. The characters are good, but no "better" than many other shows, they're just good in a completely novel way to me. Which is the show in a nutshell, really - it's novel, I've never seen anything like it before, because even though it does a lot of things typical of the genre, I've avoided the fucking genre for good reason.

Dreamed of the internet...man that pony flying game was amazing...it was Need For Speed + Mario Kart + Space + Pegasi...damn that game was so awesome...

I also dreamed how i woke up to see some pony statues and hippies smoking weed with ponies and saw some guy from Planet of the Apes screaming at the statue of liberty with Twilight's head, then i turned back and saw a Trollestia statue and some random guy with sunglasses nodding in dissaproval.

Then i had a conversation with Sibsy...dreamed that i kinda got her pissed off because i said how she doesn't know shit about the show she works for.

Then i remember asking an animator to make Celestia do a barrel roll, she was like Challenge Accepted!

Another dream was with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash becoming Fred & George because of Pinkie having wings...they were messing around with the clouds shooting lightning bolts all over the place, including fireworks.

Another one was with Luna being a laidback rebel haging out with Pinkie and Dash, then they went to a night club where Spitfire and Vinyl were chilling and some crazy ass midget started singing a song called Raging Midget

And the real reason why Luna was sent to the moon was that she got drunk for 2 weeks while keeping it all night eternal, drew penises with wings on Celestia's chariot and started killing ponies.

And yeh...that's about it, nothing fancy.
