The irony of their creation twisted on itself gave him laughter unlike his normal kind. He then brought cruelty to the world, twisting it as it please him, calling himself Discord, that is, a ruined harmony.

For me, it feels as though the crew isn't as apprehensive as they there when they were creating season one. Maybe it was the E/I watermark or maybe it was their lack of knowing exactly HOW to write in a way that would be a satisfying, kid-friendly show while still adhering to Faust's vision, but now that a season has passed and they have elements such as basic characterization under their belt, as well as a refinement of presentation (more dynamic storyboarding and direction leading to less stagnant scenes compared to season one, for instance).

All-and-all, season two seems much less fearless, and that has much more impact as a viewer. A few great moments are peppered throughout the first season, but outside of those it just seemed like it would pull its punches out of fear of doing something terribly wrong. I don't get that same feel from what I've seen so far of season two, so I'm satisfied, though it appears that doesn't settle well for everyone else.
