They've stated that they didn't think the fans would become so invested with background characters, but we did and the show likes it that we did. Even the show's creator calls the Derpy character by that name. But Lyra becomes "Heartstrings"? Not only can't I get used to it, but it's all the community saying "b-b-but copyright..." and whatnot. That just doesn't make sense. DJ-P0N-3 was a fanmade name, and the show used it. No one sued. Derpy was a fanmade name, and Lauren Faust used it. No one sued. Lyra is a fanmade name... but THAT is subject to copyright? It's ridiculous. The ONLY reason I can think of as to why it can't be used is because of all the GAY LESBIAN PONIES fanart associated with Lyra. Google My Little Pony and Lyra and what do you get? Tons and tons of LyraBon images. Her relationship with Bon Bon *defines* the character. The producers know this, and they know parents groups will be VERY VERY ANGRY when they discover this. Hence, why the name "Lyra" is permabanned. Am I wrong?
