Rarity's parents really don't add much to the series, so i don't really mind them.

AJ having parents would be iunno... something i can't really agree with. The absence of a parental figure would make her seem to fit the role of "most dependable of ponies" since she has to take care of her siblings and ailing grandmother, not to mention her business.
