Well see here's the weird thing. We've had three chickens, but not intentionally. When we first moved here, the neighbors had a property where they kept horses and chickens. Apparently they moved out when the neighbors complained that the horses were "too loud" (which was bullshit because we lived right next to them and they never made any noise), but one of their chickens kept escaping their yard to go into our backyard, and when they moved they finally gave up trying to convince her to stay in

But when we adopted that chicken, TWO OTHER CHICKENS (we still have no idea where THEY came from) also migrated to our yard. So we had three chickens at once.

Unfortunately, one of them got eaten. The other two we used to bring into a dog carrier at night together, but another one of them got eaten and dragged under our house. So we only have one left :(

The last one is really old, too. She's got to be 10+ years old by now.

Okay.. So.. I've got no where else to bring this up, so I might as well blather on about it here.

My Little Pony is a franchise that exists solely because it allows hasbro to push merchandise. Hopefully, we've all accepted that and we can agree that enjoying the show does no have to be tied to buying a single thing. (Although, it's fine if you do, I guess...)

But, one thing that's always bothered me is the astounding distance and lack of communication between the marketing branch of hasbro that produces the toys, and the animation branch that produces the cartoon.

I can't imagine it would be that hard for them to call or even just e-mail each other, but still, it seems like the toys are produced in some sort of deadzone where their only information regarding the series is a lousy media package of some clip art and a list of names.

I remember tid bits from Faust saying that they had to remove and redesign several characters during the early production of the show because they weren't toyetic enough. Also, shit like the hot air balloon is only there so they can sell a playset that includes it.

I appreciate the efforts they've made so this shit isn't so apparent, but on the other end of things, it's like the people designing and producing the toys have never even seen the show, let alone know that it's even airing.

Who am I kidding? All that shit is probably made in a sweatshop.
