10/31/11(Mon)21:35 No.31069920One night, Applejack was heading back to the barn from a long day of apple bucking. She was tired from the strenuous effort, and couldn't wait to get back home. On her way back, she noticed at the edge of her vision, nearly completely shrouded in the dusk, a small shack among the apple trees. Curious, she went over to investigate.
When she arrived, she was at a loss to explain the building: she had never noticed it before on Sweet Apple Acres, though it was clearly within the boundaries of the land, sitting betwixt the orchard of trees. The shack seemed relatively old, by the looks of the wood, too, so she wondered why she had never noticed it before.
Unperturbed, she ventured inside, and found that the inside of the shack was just that: a small shack. It boasted a night stand, a cot, and decorations, and nothing else. Tired from her walk, Applejack shrugged, and decided that the shack was as good a place as any to sleep for the night: after all, it was on their property. She moseyed over to the bed, shutting the door as she left the threshold, and made her way to the nightstand. She lit the small lamp on the nightstand next to the cot so that she could see before hopping onto the bed and getting herself comfortable. All in all, the shack seemed a nice place to sleep, especially because of how quiet and secluded it was. The only thing that made Applejack uncomfortable was the decor.
Applejack was no snob when it came to decorations, but even she felt the room was in bad taste. The walls were crowded with various paintings of faces of ponies, and though her lamp wasn't very bright, she could make out incredible detail in each one, though she recognized none of them. This would not strike her as odd, particularly, since she had a big family, but what bothered her was the fact that all of the paintings were of ponies that were frowning or upset, and it almost seemed as though they were looking at her.
