10/31/11(Mon)17:49 No.31063411>>31063379 The rest of the day was a whirlwind of brainstorming, questions, and creativity. At some point you learned she actually designed her own augmentations, and that hers are compatable with your own. She demonstrates this by letting you "try on" one of her limbs, through the simple procedure of removing one of hers and attaching it to one of your mounting points. Yes, the limb in question is awfully feminine - considering its owner, this isn't a surprise - but after the dimensions are adjusted you can definitely feel a difference in quality and responsiveness. As you put the borrowed limb through its paces - range of motion, fine motor skills, that sort of thing - Rarity continues bustling about as if nothing at all had changed. It's absolutely perfect in every way, matching or exceeding your expectations.
Eventually you finish your impromptu testing and detach the borrowed limb, but as you go to return it Rarity interrupts you. "You'll be in town until your replacements arrive, and I can't very well ask you to continue using those atrocities against fashion you showed up in. Given the condition they were in after two *years* of use, I doubt you'll do so much as scratch a loaned limb." There's that award-winning smile, and you could almost swear that the sapphires in her cranial aug glimmer with a bit of their own light. "Besides, it'll help you adapt to your new set far more easily if you've had practice."
You protest, saying how you really can't, you don't want to damage it, she needs it, any excuse you can think of. Every last one is met with a perfectly sensible rebuttal and escalation, and as the sun and horizon meet you find yourself walking back to the motel wearing Rarity's personal set of augmentations, after some minor adjustments for scale and leaving her using a set of hospital-issue limbs. The sensation is odd, but not altogether unpleasant, and as you lay down to sleep you vow to stop by the Boutique in the morning to mention it. |
