It is hard to justify, for instance, that all people have the right to entertainment, television, video games, comics, etc. What makes a person intrinsically deserving of these things? Were all people living in pain, below their Earthly rights, before they were invented?
It's much easier to say that objectively a human deserves enough water and food to live, as well as shelter. Think: basics you get in prison.
But of course, this standard of living would be considered abominable to most Americans or Europeans, who expect to be handed at least some comfort. |
