I don't know about you guys, but I'm extremely pissed off at how they did Luna. I had been anticipating my cute little timid Luna for months and months and then they gave me this horrid super-idiot Luna that just yells at everyone and doesn't know what fun is. If i could, I'd write to Hasbro and tell them to redo the entire episode. I can't believe how bad they screwed up on Luna. This is just absolutely unacceptable.I remember all the fanart and stories portraying her as a cute, sad little princess that her sister picked on. That's what I wanted; I wanted a Luna that hid behind her sister out of guilt and was ashamed to face her subjects. Why couldn't they get this right? It wasn't that hard. We could have had a very fun little episode of Luna being shy and trying to make amends with Ponyville.I'm really mad right now. I'm going to read up on my old Luna fics and try to forget this absolute trash-heap of an episode.
Whelp, I think that this episode will go in my favorites pile. Ye'Olde Luna was awesome, kinda missed Rarity, but the episode was great none the less, costumes everywhere, jokes that hit the mark really well, Luna's very interesting and funny. Well, that makes it 4 for 4 so far this season. Luna was great and her personality makes sense (I don't pay attention to fanon), I liked Zecora's reappearance, loved all the costumes, and it was a fun episode overall.I'm not sure how I feel about Pipsqueak yet, but I'd be all right if he appears just occasionally.

Honestly, Luna's personality is a little bit of what everyone guessed.She showed a few times that she's actually got some shyness and desire to be accepted under the layers of royal behaviour. She's been away for a thousand years. She tries to play strong and use the whole princess thing, but it doesn't really work out. When her feelings are hurt she falls apart pretty easily, but she's not completely pathetic.There's a lot to recommend, and by the last scene where she pranked Rainbow Dash and sat laughing on the cloud I think her character really came together.

I just don't get how Nightmare Night is possible. Nopony seemed to know who Nightmare Moon was until Twilight reminded them. Then everyone realized Nightmare Moon was Luna and seemingly forgave her.
