As one guy whose post I remember reading once stated, the thing about this show is that it doesn't owe too much to body type due to almost everyone having the same physical model; you identify individual personalities by their expressions and actions rather than their physical appearance, which contrasts with a lot of other cartoons that base characters on adhering to or subverting common stereotypes (e.g., the biggest one being the hulking yet lovable idiot, the one with half-lidded eyes and a rather "average" build being the cool leader, etc., as seen in Pound Puppies).

You know, stopping to ponder Rainbow Dash's costume and the likelihood that she made it herself, I wonder if it's not something of sentimental value? Something she's been trying to stitch together since she was young, or has had for a long time. Maybe she decided to make a Shadowbolt costume and just re-dye it for Halloween? I wonder if, seeing as they've made it obvious that it's not perfectly stitched like Rarity's work usually is (which leads many of us to assume, by extension, that it's Rainbow's handiwork) that there'll be some sort of impetus in the episode that Rainbow desperately tries to protect it, and then it gets damaged somehow, and she and Rarity end up interacting more in trying to repair it. That'd be nice, I think.
