I worked as a commercial animator once on a handful of shows for SPT. One thing you should know about animating is that the animators and even storyboarders get really caught up in drawing the characters, until we're putting them everywhere. Cubicles and walls get decked with characters from the show spouting phrases or swearing like sailors. Our tech room had a drawing of the tech guy as one of the characters. At lunch, we'd doodle the characters beating each other up or having sex. This shit is everywhere. Walt Disney had to deal with it, Nickelodeon had to deal with it, we had to deal with it.

I guarantee you somewhere out there is 'official' MLP porn. And since it's made for humor, it's probably the most depraved shit you can think of.
But it'll never hit the internet.

You know what I love about this show? There are no bad characters.
There isn't necessarily a "Scrappy", no terrible, unbearable characters forced upon the audience every few episodes because whoever's writing the show has a boner for him or her. There's just a whole bunch of good characters and their own unique fanbases. Every character is unique and fun to watch, even those who stare wall-eyed in the background.

What the hell are people gabbling about present tense being bad? Third person is widely used because it conveys a sense of false realism, ie. narrating a story that has happened. Present tense breaks this illusion and thus is a more challenging medium. However, if correctly applied, it's all the more satisfying.

Most books are written in past tense and from third person because these devices allow the most freedom for the author (when things 'have already happened' it's easier to move in time, just as when the narrator is not an actual character, he can be all-knowing).

so anyway, a few threads back somebody proposed that the CMC would be in a chinese dragon style Discord cosutme.
Now, with that episode looming ever closer, I, as a not exactly great artfag, did the best I can.
I'll be honest: this isn;t very good. The ponies look extreamly off model and are probably scarey in their own way and goodness knows the colour jobs rushed, but the basic idea is there.

Also yes they are standing on eachothers heads in this picture to give you a idea of how tall Discord really is, and how the underbelly of the discord costume would probably look like.

Also yes the cmc are wearing a type of harness that have been sewn into the costume in order to keep it on themselves - I have the distinct mental image of the costume being way too big for them so it sort of shuffles along on the floor dragging the limbs and tail behind it, so obviously the'd not want it to be pulled off them at a moments notice.

Also they have sewn red googly eyes into the discord suit so whenever the run along the eyes bounce around like crazy.

Also no the CMC arms don't fit into Discord's limbs so the costume basically walks on it's knees and elbows with the hands and feet being dragged behind.

Actually to the point of Chistery's critique, there is room for present tense in narration in a given piece, it's just something that has to be selected as an extension of the story being told. I think I bandwagoned here... using a present tense for storytelling works perfectly fine as long as it's properly catered to in the body of the writing.

Like the first time someone brings out 20% cooler its garners a laugh, people see this and notice that people laughed at this line, and then they try ro duplicate that success because it was proven to be funny already.

It's either lazy comedy, or people who don't understand how jokes degrade over time, especially when you don't do anything to change them.

I've gotten some laughs out of 20% something else here besides cooler because it was new in some sense and defied my expectations, and then that went south too.

Inconsistent ellipses. Eyes looking into eyes? Isn't that implicit? Why not describe the eyes or the particular gaze?

"Magic" "enveloping" is overused. Try something different. Why not something permeating and invading, like mist rolling over a strong thick city wall? Isn't it more interesting that it's not 'overpowering' but so powerful it can ignore all defenses? Same, "seductive little whispers." Whispers are 'smaller' units of speech, at least quieter and thinner.

Why not say "sweet nothings binding, blooming, your mind reeling and spinning, caught tight-rope taut in this spell she's cast ..."

The final line could use shortening, "my little minion" draws quite a bit of punch away from 'commands you.'
