Alright, I'm going to bed, but before I do I'm going to go ahead and write this up, because I have been putting it off for far too long.
Granny Smith was dealt quite an interesting hand in life, when you consider the fact that she's 296 years old. It's a very uncommon sight: while most ponies age at about the same rate as humans, some age faster, and some - like Granny Smith - age slower. Of course, no Earth Pony had ever lived past 300, and Granny doubted she would be the first, but that didn't bother her. After all, there is no true death in Equestria; the ponies are merely reincarnated, without memory of their previous lives. She had outlived her children, and her grandchildren, but she knew that her great grandchildren were - in reality - her children. They may not remember it, but she did. She spends her final days napping in her rocking chair, waiting for the one day that she won't wake up - not with apprehension, but with relieved acceptance.
I might rewrite it after I've had some sleep. |
