I'm not sure I understand the "fanservice" argument. I really don't inundate myself with MLP fanon at all, but the only thing I can thing of that overtly relates to the Internet was RD's "deal with it" glasses. Which fits her personality perfectly.

I like the direction this show seems to be taking, with the main problems of the show being caused by the mildly insane personal quirks of the individual characters. Now that Twilight doesn't personally have to write in to the princess, the show can much more easily focus on the relationships of the other characters. Ultimately this is still a show for little girls, but it seems to be heading towards the glory years of shows like Spongebob.

Not sure with Space Marines, but I doubt it when it comes to Guardsmen. They have Psykers to offer some protection, but I doubt they could keep them all from becoming obsessed with a rock and start shooting one another with their flashlights.

I thought there were a few pacing issues, but mostly in a slow start and a few overlong scenes breaking an otherwise smooth flow. Nothing as awkward as RoH P1. I don't know about best episode or anything, but my initial instinct is a pretty solid show.

I thought this episode was a return to form for Rarity.

Remember back in A Dog and Pony show when it was pointed out that she doesn't even like to touch dirt if she doesn't have to? Well, that was brought back for this episode.

I think her dramatics might have been a BIT over the top, though. If this is how she's going to act from now on, it really goes to show how much she cares for Sweetie Belle that she didn't flip the FUCK out when she ruined her dresses in Stare Master.
