I think someone defined it before in the last thread - that the characters aren't ideologues to whatever element they are. It's not exacerbated at all, they're just... normal, in a sense. Simple morals conveyed without preaching, and even I think there's a touch of desire for relationships of a similarly deep nature to the ones held by the mane 6.Escapism always plays a big part, too. For some, the contrast of the near-perfect world that the show provides a desirable alternative to their own reality. I think the concept of a cutie mark - a talent that we are 'born' with, or a preordained purpose that we come to discover over time - is also highly appealing to the largely young male audience, owing to the innate human desire to know what they want from life.It's also a fulfillment of desire, for one. I write at the end of most days about fantasy environments because they're unreal and otherwise impossible fantasies that I wouldn't otherwise be able to express or achieve. Same applies for draw-fags.
