The other two fillies' expressions were somewhere between incredulous, disturbed, unhappy and enthralled, but their eyes kept darting between the red-haired pony and the older gentlecolt, unsure who exactly seemed to be more out of it than the other. The stallion himself was almost reminiscing, at least more so than he was talking to them, but by then he'd already drifted off. Whatever he had to say was clearly as much meant for his memories of his younger self as it was for them. "Y'don't need to discover a 'special talent' to find out who y'all really are," he mused, carefully counting some indeterminate number off on his hooves. "What matters is that you're happy with what you have. I never found my Cutie Mark, and if I did, I'd have hated it, and gone to beg the Princess for a new one. Bein' a blank-flank's what made my life good." "Why's that?" The three fillies questioned in unison. "'Cause it means I get to do whatever I want, whenever I want, and I don't have to feel guilty about it," he smiled back, chuckling. "I've still got all my potential, and all my choices, and that's all that counts." "Yeah?" "Yessum, kids, I do say so," the stallion finished, chortling. Carefully raising his rake with both hooves, he turned away, waltzing off in the direction of the outskirts of the palace gardens; Scootaloo looked like she was ready to follow, jumping to her feet after him, but a short, sharp whistle, followed by a piercing cry of "now go on, get!" was enough to deter her and she sprang back, practically galloping off in the other direction. Sweetie Belle nuzzled Applebloom's face ever so slightly, blushing, as they shared a look of understanding. "Come on!" The white unicorn cried, fleeing after the orange pegasus, a pleased smile on her face. After a moment's indecision, Applebloom trotted along behind, content with her new life lesson.
