I lost the two friends who got me into FiM cause I "got too creepy", and while I snapped myself out of it as soon as I bought a shirt, then dumped the shirt before I wore it public, everyone in my college class knows me as a ponyfag, and I did even... watch an episode with my parents. I knew from past experiences that if I get really enthusiastic about something, it's best to try and restrain myself until the initial excitement has worn off. I had some serious difficulty resisting the urge to spam links to pony clips to all of my friends and quote ponies everywhere.

I think I managed to be pretty subtle about it. I only once casually mentioned to some of my friends that this show is "surprisingly decent" and they asked where to find those episodes so they can check it out too. I don't know whether they became fans or not, but at least I got some of it out of my system.

In relation to this thread topic. Yesterday a man-child in my class could not contain himself and needed to point on that he was wearing a brony shirt. Because of this, I never plan to speak to him, again, due to the fact that I see the way bronies act on 4chan. When I wear a shirt representing something I enjoy, I don't run around showing it off to everyone, just so they know I enjoy it. It's obvious I like it, or I wouldn't be wearing the shirt.
