Effectively securing them to your person with one arm, leaving your other free. It is painful for everyone involved, but leaves you a hand free to open doors, fire weapons, ect.
And for the bloodchoke. Make sure you sink the crook of your elbow alllllll the way down even with the throat, you goal is to press on the caratid artery (trace a line straight down from the ear, that's where it is) with the side of your wrist. 3-6 seconds is all it takes.
