>>30341878 It was just another afternoon at Ponyville Press. I had just finished duplicating a thousand copies of the twenty-third leaf of Infinite Skies' second run.
Mr. Saddlemaker told me to dispose of the garbage. I collected it into one big bag, hovered it onto the cart, and wheeled it out the back. Using my horn, I got the bag into the trash bin.
As I turned to head back inside, I saw something moving at the side of the building with no windows. Curious, I peeked around.
Lying on the ground, twitching and foaming, was a grey beast with oversized front paws. It looked like a dog, but strangely proportioned. It was wearing a red vest. Its green eyes rolled up in its head, and it stopped moving. With a weak fluttering noise, it shit itself.
Standing over it was the librarian from Canterlot, the Princess' favored student. She was concentrating, her eyes narrowed, her horn glowing. The beast's head twitched, and from its mouth emerged a small black object; it looked like the screw-on stopper to a water bottle.
She wiped it on the grass, then turned to leave. She stopped when she saw me, but her eyes retained the cold, dispassionate glare they'd had as she was killing whatever it was.
Time stood still for several moments. Then, in a quiet voice, she said, "Slavers have no rights on Equestrian soil." |
