10/05/11(Wed)19:55 No.30305697>>30305670 When you come to, you're in your favorite recliner. It's older than you are, your parents got it as a wedding gift. It's still as solid as ever. In your right hand, a tall glass. You raise it to your nose and take a sniff. Vodka. She knows you too well. It's not your favorite drink, but in times like this, you need it. You turn your eyes to the left, and smile up at her as best as you can manage. Her cheeks are stained, eyes puffy with moisture. You take a long, hard drink of the russian gift to mankind, and set the glass down.
It's a long silence. The kind of silence that only comes when everything you know is set to fall apart, even as you've spent the last four years at the breaking point, trying to survive. Your lives are going to change forever. School isn't going to be an option anymore. Before, you at least had *some* money left over to save for a few classes at the community college. You're going to have to work as many shifts as you can possibly beg for just to make ends meet. FInally, you break the silence. You tell her everything's going to be all right. You're going to make it through this, together. It's going to be hard. It's going to test your will to go on. But as long as you have eachother, you'll both be alright. Tears stream down her face again. She smiles wide, and pulls you into the tightest embrace the two of you have shared in a long time. You can already feel it. No matter what it takes, you're going to make this work. You're going to make it. |
