We had this extremely bad in December through February, remember those ENORMOUS shitstorms? that was this stage.

stage five is establishment. Several communities will spring up from the central one, each with their own goals and regulations, attracting like-minded individuals. We got ourselves and ponychan at first. the distinction was subtle but began to grow quickly.

stage six is just more expansion, each of the various sectors gains more members as news of the media item spreads further. We're currently in this stage, and the popularity of ponies is causing further splintering and suchlike. Now we have two main camps with radically different mindsets. Unfortunately the ponychan camp is the main "recruitment center", so their ranks swell to infinity while we sit in a corner and make jokes about shitty belle.
