>>30220382 The play is scripted as follows: The mane, Rarity, uses her magic to pitch the ball backwards to the rear hoof, Pinkie Pie, who then flips the ball to the left wing, Twilight, who is running underneath the formation. The right wing, Rainbow Dash, runs a decoy route across the field, which draws the attention of the entire defense as the horn, Spike, heads downfield for the end zone, unnoticed by the defense. Twilight then passes the ball to Spike, who leaps up, catches the ball, and lands on his back in the end zone. The play is dubbed the "Single-Wing Pass", as Twilight is acting as a false wing. This is also an homage to similarly-designed real-life American football plays from formations of the same name As the team celebrates their victory, tossing both Twilight and Spike into the air, the opposing coach begrudgingly approaches them and congratulates them on their spectacular performance and admits that they "played admirably". Twilight offers to discuss the game's summary further with the opposing coach but is quickly declined as "There are strategic flaws we must address as quickly as possible". The announcers end the scene by advertising "next week's game at Cloudsdale, where the Flyers will host their rival, the Fillydelphia Fillies". The episode concludes as usual, with Twilight dictating her weekly Friendship report to Princess Celestia. This letter addresses the thrill of competition and the power of teamwork. Princess Celestia receives the letter, and, realizing it is from Twilight, she huffs, turns away from the letter, and lets it drop to the floor |
