Discord comes back, steals Luna and Celestia's powers, and scatters the Elements of Harmony across the myriad alternate dimensions of Equestria. Twilight and Co. must travel the Multiverse to retrieve the Elements, as well as encountering alternate versions of their own selves, culminating in a final massive showdown with Discord in which the combined Elements of Harmony bring forth The Creator, The Avatar of Friendship, which is naturally Faust's Alicorn OC.

The series ends with the main six becoming aware of their status as simple cartoon drawings, and finding out just how much they've helped the weird bipedal pink creatures that have watched them just by going through their daily antics. They all get transportalized back to their proper parallel worlds, and the series ends with Celestia and Luna abdicating their power and royalty to the Main Six.

As the credits roll, a montage is played which elaborates on what each main character, and background characters, end up doing after the show is over (I.E. Pinkie-Pie opens her own bakery in Canterlot with Pony Joe, Dash finally joins the Wonderbolts and after a stellar career, she retires to Cloudsdale to teach other pegasi, Fluttershy starts a council for Sapient Animals so they're properly represented on the Counterlot Council, etc).

Twilight becomes the replacement for Celestia. Then the centuries wear on and even the long-lived spike finally dies, leaving her alone with Luna to rule the skies and take on an apprentice of her own

Discord escapes again, more ruthless this time, not taking chances. Celestia dies protecting Twilight, Luna teleports them into hiding on the moon. Twilight falls into despair and can't make the Elements work, the rest of the mane six go back down to try do something on their own, facing dangers and pulling all the minor characters together to help. Twilight and Luna stay up on the moon being sad. Various trials, tribulations, Luna shows what's going on down below, Twilight slowly gets herself together watching all her friends and all of equestria struggling on until she finally teleports herself down to help.

Cue big confrontation, Discord beats them down and zaps all the mane 6 but Twilight again, but by this time over the whole series Twilight is famous and has had adventures all over, learned all the virtues of her five friends herself, and she is Friend to and has earned the Friendship of all of equestria. And Friendship is Magic, so all the combined magic of all the ponies channels through her and she banishes Discord to the sun.

Everything goes back to normal but the magic that went through her turns Twilight into an alicorn, so she gets crowned the new youngest Princess. Series ends bittersweet with a happily ever after for equestria in general but Twilight having to part with her friends to take up her new throne.

Just a reminder, the G1 toy line still has a pretty big fanbase on the internet.

I'd write a story where some new character poses an unprecedented threat to the social circle by fostering distrust among them... like Discord, but more effectively. (For example, instead of merely telling Fluttershy her friends see her as weak, he would cite examples.)

I would also have this new villain use his knowledge of the ponies' strengths and weaknesses, by focusing on each pony's weaknesses in conversations with them to make them see themselves as weak.

For example, suppose he locked the main characters in a prison filled with mice. Rarity would be like "eww, keep them away from me" and Fluttershy would be like "how dare you talk about these adorable critters that way?" He would then take Rarity to solitary confinement and say to her, "see, Fluttershy doesn't mind her new cellmates, you're just whiny" etc... then he would repeat the process with the other ponies, finding ways to wear down on their self-esteem and get them to turn against each other.

Of course, they would eventually make up like they did after Discord, but the idea is to raise the bar.

Celestia knows she's dying, and in her last days, she goes on a rampage, destroying towns and "banishing" ponies, meanwhile, she's trying to pull the sun to Equestria in an attempt to destroy it. Luna tries to stop her and gets "banished" in the process. There'll be lots of adorkable Twilight and "why are you doing this?" pleas and sad pinkie. Twilight gives up, seeing as she will never defeat a deity/alicorn. right before she tries one last time to stop her, she sees that Celestia is scared of dying, and reminds her of what she's done for Equestria and its inhabitants. Celestia ignores her, and in her last attempt, Twilight attempts to stop the sun, using all her power, and killing her. Moved, Celestia uses her last ounce of strength, and with the other Mane, she harnesses the Power of Harmony to revive Twilight. Her dying words are, "You have done well my faithful student...I am p r o u d...I .... l o v e ...."

and she dies. The ending scene is Twilight and the other Mane together in Canterlot with Twilight wearing the princess adornments and others wearing the Harmony necklaces.

It turns out the ponies' use of magic to direct the seasons and such is slowly throwing the world out of balance and destroying it. In the end, the only way to restore things and save everything is to cast the heart of pony magic(the elements) into another universe. However, doing so means sending the mane six out of the world as well since the magic is partly bound within them. They pick themselves up and begin walking towards the horizon of the strange planet they've arrived at to find a way back home after abandoning the EoH. This plays and the final credits begin.

to be honest, I would draw their actual original forms more often, but they're no challenge to me. Three circles and sausages for the rest to define their figures. Easy. So I gave them humanized forms to challenge myself and keep my knowledge of anatomy in check, but also letting things become rubbery and exaggerated, basic cartoon principles and ideas, with only enough realism to give certain emotions and actions weight. It's sort of like having one foot inside fanart land and one foot into original territory. One day (hopefully within the next five years), I hope to just stop the fanart and go 100% original. It's looking to be close now, really. I only continue to draw MLP human fanart because, believe it or not, there are quite a few people who don't mind it or actually enjoy it for the energy it gives off. That's what I'm all about really, is getting the energy across to you.
