09/28/11(Wed)20:02 No.30097774so I made this post in a thread way earlier today but forgot about it and never got to respond to people's comments about it so I want to do it now
Basically I said this: I read and enjoyed Cupcakes. It had a very credible feel to it, in the sense that I could accept Pinkie behaving the way she did if she was a killer. That Ask Pinkamena Diane Pie tumbler is interesting, yeah, but the Cupcakes Pinkie felt way more accurate.
but my favorite thing about cupcakes was that there was nothing sexual to the torture. Thee was no rape, no graphic violent sex, no genital mutilation, etc. It was disturbing without resorting to the cliche of forced sex. And weird sex is becoming a cliche I really hate about these threads, since I'm one of the people who enjoys this cartoon without wanting to turn it into a Shipyard or a way of life.
Responses to my post were as such: >No sex? What about the alternate ending/missing chapter? Well I never read either of those or knew that they existed, but I do feel I like the story without Sex. Like how in Silent Hill you know rape was a factor at SOME point, but no one actually gets raped where you can see it.
>So violent dismemberment is fine but you think sex is inappropriate? That's dumb. Actually I'm not offended by either. I think the sex wouldn't fit the feel of the story. If sex HAD been a factor, I would have just rolled my eyes, not freaked out because it's so much worse than violence (it's not). I dislike the sex because the internet makes it cliche, not because it's offensive. And no one accuse me of trying to be some MORALS ARE GAY type of guy. I was going on a scary story binge and honestly good morality doesn't have to be a focus in those. |
