09/21/11(Wed)23:35 No.29883926For whatever reason, 4chan loves My Little Pony (hereafter abbreviated to "MLP"). This was of little interest to me until some faggotry erupted on some forums I visit frequently. As a D&D geek, I am perpetually surrounded by feminized, castrated leftists who blare their brokenness to everyone in earshot. Despite my love for the hobby, I find the entire thing somewhat shameful, and I normally disregard their embarrassing behavior. However, once their rantings turned to the genius of MLP, I could withstand it no longer. I had to experience the detestable thing myself, and thus I watched the episode above (as it was the recommended starting point by one of the resident /co/mrades).
After watching it, I see a mediocre children's cartoon that would undoubtedly have bored me as a child and provides no real entertainment to me as an adult. This brings me to the question of why goons love MLP with such fervor. In the episode I've linked, there are obviously some manchild-goonish themes--collectivism and the dressing down of a physically superior adversary are the main--but this alone cannot qualify the show as being goonfap material. I considered the potential for sexual fetishism, but their love for MLP seems to be one of childlike wonder combined with the quiet sadness of adult males relegated to the rubbish heap of life. What, then, could be the source of their fondness for this middling cartoon? |
