Look, when I used to live with my girlfriend there were times when she wouldn't be in the mood and she'd tell me know, but it would be a whining, "I've got shit to do" kind of no. Or like, "but I have to wake up in the morning" kind of no. It's not that hard to transition from rape to consent if you make the context clear in that direction.
Hell, she used to do the same thing to me. She'd proposition, I'd turn her town, but she'd prod and insist and eventually get her way.
Sex is less complex than people give it credit for. If there's interest, then people probably want to do it. If you're confident about it, you can overcome the other person's underconfidence. There's a line, definitely, but it isn't so hard to draw that you can't change rape into consent with the power of editing the events of the evening.
I've given the same thought to the chapter with Dash in it, honestly. Even though she's a lesbian, that doesn't mean she'd have to hate sex with the opposite gender. I've had lesbian friends not repulsed by that kind of thing. They were just more not into than anything, but they were willing to flirt and even be a little romantic with you if you were polite. |
