well, for one, you can't really specify a documentary-style fic to be "read" in a certain voice - even if you write to capture that style specifically, you'd still have to specify that that's the case. a person won't read it naturally that way. furthermore documentaries are written for scripts, but you're writing a fanfic, and therefore carrying a narrative - the two styles won't mesh well at all. it's just bound to end badly for you, man. rather than going for a documentary a person is meant to be reading in a particular voice (which a lot of people can't even do), why not simply turn it into an actual archival or historical educational piece, in the general trend of "1066 and all that" and writers like bill bryson or max brooks? you might find it works better that way.

Incongruous. From the mere principle that Discord isn't really the "glowing red eyes seeking vengeance for his scorned love" kind of villain.

That, and I just don't feel like this could fit anywhere in what we already know about Discord and Celestia's enemy status. Discord was already ruling the world before the Regal Sisters stood up to him and it's possible he's even older than they are, so to say she was like a childhood crush to him feels weird. Maybe I'm implying too much about his age, but between his muted colors of gray and brown and the long white bushy goatee and eyebrows does give him an elderly vibe.
