09/19/11(Mon)00:38 No.29801875Ok /co/ I just thought of the weirdest fan theory of the beginnings of Equestria so hear me out.
In the first episode of season 2 we are told Discord used to rule the land before Celestia and Luna overthrew him. Now, Discord is made up of multiple animal parts which represents… well, discord but it may also represent diversity.
Throughout the first season we meet Zecora and every villager regards her as an evil outsider from a foreign land. With Gilda, she is seen as invasive of the pony town and we don’t see any other gryphon in Cloudsdale despite RD having been friends with one. The main six are also forced to exile a dragon living nearby their town. What am I getting at? Discord has body parts that represent gryphons, zebras, and dragons.
Discord used to rule a land in which every (intelligent) animal coexisted in a single society but the ponies (Celestia and Luna as their leaders) rebelled as they probably thought every other species were being a drain to them or some shit like that. After they overthrew Discord, every animal (gryphon, zebras, etc.) went their own ways (the buffaloes to Appleloosa for example) while Celestia and Luna ruled Equestria. As referenced by Discord in the first episode of season 2, Celestia probably turned any possible detractors from her own pony army into stone to keep them silenced.
TL;DR: FiM season 2 is actually a social critique of multi-cultural societies in real life. |
