>>29700009 i can pretty much agree with your assessment, it seems spot on, and congruent with my own beliefs.
that's actually one of the things i myself have been happy about, and a great deal of others too - by picking and choosing what is and isn't relevant to the show, rather than allowing sycophantry and kowtowing to affect what ends up in it, they're basically controlling the flow of information within the fandom and directing it in a constructive way, rather than controlling it. what they ignore will eventually die out, what they consume will be immortalised in canon - therefore, unless something is particularly notable within the fandom (i.e. Cupcakes), there's absolutely no way it will have any major ramifications on the direction of the fandom as a whole. it's a good call on their part, actively influencing their supporters in periphery demographics towards certain goals, rather than being passive and allowing all hell to break loose in their apathy.
you can say that again! being heard is what the internet is all about, i believe. it's the epitomisation of the contemporary cultural paradigm - one of inclusivity and globalism - and MLP: FiM, amongst its peers in other mediums, has come to represent that sensibility. what can i say, i love being listened to, haha! |
