As wakeup calls go, it worked. Gilda's eyes shot open and she dug her talons into the cloud, trying to stay put. "Whaddya think your doin'?"
Rainbow Dash, in turn, muttered something that sounded like "Let's go,", still biting onto Gilda's tail. The griffon's look of annoyance slowly faded, replaced by a coy, mischievous grin.
"You're not gonna win, right? My tail's longer than yours." Dash didn't reply, to focused on not letting go. Gilda chuckled. "Alright, you asked for it, dweeb."
"Wha--" Dash didn't even have time to let go before Gilda got up, flew around, and bit onto the pegasus' tail. Between her clenched teeth, she tried to mutter "Hey! Let go"
Gilda shook her head, a cool confidence in her eyes, and started to pull Rainbow Dash back toward the cloud. Dash in turn pulled back harder, although she was loosing ground, although if the smile that was creeping across her face was any indication, she didn't mind it to much.
At the end of the day, though, Gilda was a griffon and Dash was a pony, and with a great heave Gilda pulled Dash back onto the cloud. Before she could even react, Gilda was next to her and pulled her tight into a hug, the sly grin on her beak even bigger.
"Guess I ain't gonna make it to the lecture, huh?"
"Not a chance, dweeb." |
