I was waiting for someone to ask that. Basically yeah, I do get off to fatties. However, I get off to all extremes in women, so that means really tall, really fat, really skinny, short (like 5ft is as far as I'll go). Something just set something off in my mind when I gave Pinkie Pie a human design. It was a completely unexpected reaction, to be honest. Though some design choices were purposefully made. There are two reasons in particular why she's fat in my incarnation of the character...
1) Big appetite, of course, metabolism is pointlessly debatable
2) She doesn't seem to be completely self-aware. Other ponies have their wits about them for the most part, but Pinkie Pie never seems to stop and go "Wow, THAT'S me?"
I also thought it would be amusing to have a fat character zip around, it's a contradiction. Just like Mario can do all of that acrobatic jumping shit. Really, I'm hoping that when people see the way I draw Pinkie Pie, they'll see her as the Betty Boop of the 21st century. Doesn't seem entirely self-aware, sings silly songs, inexplicably attractive, cartoony, etc.
You might want to screencap this in case anyone else wonders this same thing. |
