I don't think that it's particularly fair to deride others because their life experiences have made them different people than us. Without meaning to sound incendiary, what you're saying is akin to accusations of "playing the race card." Not in magnitude, of course, but in the sense that people who have never experienced the (negative) effects of racism are prone to believing that racism is less of a social issue than it is. Thats the thing. We assume because they are using human instruments that they are actually good at playing them. The truth is the "music" ponies make with those old human style instruments is abominable ear poison, they just don't know it. Piano pony cannot hit individual keys, Octavia cannot finger the strings and tuba pony's tuba doesn't even *have* keys. The ponies don't know better though, and to them it sounds lovely.

Celestia is the only pony that knows what real music is supposed to sound like, and she wisely chose not to show up until after the place had been wrecked.
