It's not really my place to be interrupting other people's discussions of shit unless I have something meaningful to say. It's why I try to avoid participating in meta unless I'm mentioned specifically.
Basically, the feathered spear would be coloured gold, with an orange feather, to contrast with his blue colour scheme and the clear water around it. It'd be less a spear and more a javelin, actually, for sporting competitions and whatnot, like they use in the Olympics. On the main "this is what you will do with your life" issue, the spear represents speed, skill, and precision - cutting through the air to get where it wants to go, with something of a lazy arc (I'm writing Soaren as very laid-back). The orange feather represents the resistance to the currents and a sort of "desire to be different" - a unique identifying trait, even among the Wonderbolts. Also, an attraction to the colour orange. The water itself is relaxed, whimsical, lazy, with a flow all of its own, slow sometimes and powerful, thunderous at others - it's change, all the things typically associated with water. Not only that, but it's fluid beauty would be based on the idea of water being fluid - he's a fantastic stunt flier, so he's fluid in the air, on the ground, in the water, and so on. Also, I might consider that he swims.
What do you think? These are just new thoughts, not fleshed out all that much. And besides writing this fic (which is hard, haha) I'm not all that busy at the moment at all!
>>29269240 True, I get where you're coming from. Still, it's less a "martial weapon" and more a "metaphorical representation of competition", you know? |
