Because one of the largest things that separates a good OC from a bad one is how well they visually fit in to the show.

An OC with a horrible and eye catching color scheme, twenty different accessories and such stands out too much. For the same reason, an otherwise well done non-pony OC stands out since most of what we see in the show is poni poni poni.

At least, this should be the explanation. In reality, most of the people in the fandom who make OC's have no design sense whatsoever and this sort of thing doesn't even occur to them. So I'm not sure why non-pony oc's don't show up more.

It wasn't really that exiciting or anything but it was strangely reminiscent of an MLP episode, involving Lyra and Twilight doing shit I can't remember for the life of me. But l Lyra had a voice actor and she actually found a lyra in the dream.
