!!cJ4MGVqvOKw 08/26/11(Fri)15:53 No.29095561>>29095387 Yeah, that's the sort of thing I was thinking of. Organised holidays, institutionalised worship, all that, there's got to be some specificity to it. In terms of an official clergy, in the things I'm writing at the moment (if you're not interested, I apologise, just skip this post and ignore me) I'm positing the idea of twin clans, of a sort, one dedicated to the support of one goddess and the other, her counterpart. In the show, and in this setup, I can imagine there being a dedicated order of worshippers - pastoral types, though not with any of the same rules we'd have over here. One anon in MLPG is writing this fic that I'm reading, with a group known as the "Fraternity of the Sun" if I recall correctly, and it's a monastic order devoted to the ideals of Celestia as put forward in Twilight Sparkle's writings (her friendship reports) - it's really neat, and very, very interesting so far. The clan structure I mentioned I was writing isn't so fleshed-out yet, but it revolves around a very druidic style of worship, you know? Small groups dedicated to upholding the ideals and whatnot. A clergy seems a bit too disciplinarian, authoritarian for Celestia, who is seen as wise and very much a political mastermind. I don't think she'd want an overt group of worshippers, because that'd interfere with the state - separation of the two is best for her to effectively run the country, you know?
>>29095394 I like the fanon that sees them as created by a predecessor race of humans, us, and left to manage the new world after our extinction as biological constructs. Immortal and godlike, you know? |
