08/25/11(Thu)04:16 No.29055200>>29055110 There's a difference. RGP is dark but only as a result of the content matter; rape is a vicious and deplorable thing and by not glossing over it that becomes sufficiently dark, but it is not an active exercise in trying to write something as horrible as possible.
>>29055094 If I intended to, I think I could write something fairly devastating, at least moreso than Cupcakes which I understand is held to be an example of rather shoddy writing. Not just on a level of visceral pain, but of emotional and psychological destruction. To destroy not only a pony's body, but mind. To see their life crumble around them, their trust destroyed, their friends torn down before them. I do think, if the gloves came off, I could write something more than dark enough.
The only thing really stopping me is that honestly, I'd feel bad about it. Fictional characters or not, I don't really like being excessively dark and contrary to what RGP may suggest, I really am a sucker for happy endings. I don't think it's for me. |
