Well, the show made it seem like a pony's special talent was their destiny...i.e. they get their cutie mark when they discover what they're supposed to be good at, rather than finding something they're good at and then getting a cutie mark to match it. That's the vibe I got.

So she's meant to be good at something that involves flying, like cloud making or storm breaking or something. But her wings are too weak for her to fly with so she's permanently grounded. I made her a scrap collector...she goes and recovers odds and ends scattered at the edges of towns and stuff and either makes them into things or sells them to make a living. So she has something she's good at but it's not what she's meant to be good at.

And if that's not good enough for you, then I just don't know.

I don't think they progress at all, I think they just use whatever is available to them and make sure it stays running.

Man I'm bummed out, restocking toys and unpoacking, suddnelyi spot a familiar logo, and true enough the FIM toys have landed.

12 different ponies, 2 had the right body tone, and only AJ had correct tone and mane colour, even packaged with a a mini WInona though no hat.
Pinkie had mostly the right colour, yet has psycho pinkie hairdo, a bunno instead of Gummy
Twillight and Cherilee are both pink, and Twilight is packaged with pink Owlicious...and has mono-tone hair.
Just glad I'm going on vacation, wouldn't want to be there when the returns start happening.

Even had he proper colors on the boxart... that's what they get for outsourcing production to the Chinese.
