I can see why regardless of her personality, her re-introduction will basically be her waltzing in and being all "sup?" as if the pilot never happened. That plot was resolved within the two episodes and at the end Celestia and Luna are reunited and cool again, and while it would make SENSE to have her still be resentful/psycho/whatever, it also shoehorns her a bit and the writers may have an entirely different idea of what to do with her personality.

Revered as a god. betrayed by his favorite bro in the whole wide world, "killed" and kept on life preserve for fucking ever. He's basically a corpse on a big seat, more a symbol than anything, but he is a goddamn big symbol and his technically living soul inspires trillions to fuck up everything in his name.

I think the big problem with OCs is OVER designing.
For instance, this I made up back in winter.
I named her Ditzy Doo, since Derpy Hooves is Derpy Hooves.
She has a cutiemark of a mushroom in between two bowls that looks like a cock which she hides behind a shopping. She has a HORRIBLE sense of fashion, but would argue otherwise. She spends money like water since her father owns a franchise.
And she's Derpy's best friend who drags her into trouble with bad ideas and schemes, but is there for after it all goes wrong too.
Now I thought she was funny, but she just doesn't compare to the simple concept of Carrot Top who is a farmer who's often put upon by Derpy, but still cares for her as a friend.

Here's my personal checklist of OC necessities for a good character.

1)has to be reasonable
you got it covered. This means, no alicorn bullshit, no shipping with the mane cast or any canon seriously.
2)has to be detached
got this covered. We dont want to hear about your dark past or how loldeep you are, kiddo, when you write a character, don't just ponify yourself. At the same time, dont make it cliche, add human elements, perhaps of yourself, but find a balance. Give them depth but not HURR HE CUTS HIMSELF ;_;
3)They have to function in the world
This is where you seem to fall down. Your pony, to be interesting and engaging, has to fit in the world you put him in. A good example is klondike's OC. Ignoring how he looks, his role in ponyville is pretty sensible. You can imagine a pony that would be a grumpy ice cream salesman. Plus, this allows you to start stories with them. A pony that's a pony is kinda bland and uninspired, but if you tell me what he does and what his niche is, then I'd be more accepting.

Dont apply this to background characters. Thats a whole 'nother ballgame
