No it shouldn't. It has NEVER worked that way because we link to new threads in the previous one to aid stragglers and leave old ones up because there is (sometimes) still discussion taking place. We only have one marker so it wouldn't yield two threads or contradictions that would fuck up the script. The general image has it's own unique hash. It was made to be as simple, but efficient, as possible. The only other way a thread can be marked is by the owner himself.
